Cultus Lake Pikeminnow Fishing Derby

On Saturday, June 18th from dawn to 2pm, join in the fun of the Cultus Lake Pikeminnow Fishing Derby at Main Beach at Cultus Lake.  This is a fun event for everyone in the family – kids especially! Part of BC’s Family Fishing Weekend so there are no fishing licenses required for the entire weekend. This is a perfect time to gather for family fishing fun and community celebration. The boat launches will be open, or you can fish from the shore. Be sure to leave time to browse around because there will be community booths too.

By entering the Derby, you’ll be helping to control the population of pikeminnow, which is a predator of young Sockeye salmon and other fish in the lake.

• Target Fish is the Pikeminnow, gentle release all others!
• Fish weigh-in starts at 12:00 noon and ends at 2:00 pm
• Parking is free in lot A before 9 am.
• Derby Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for anyone under 16 years of age
• Tickets available at Chilliwack Lions Club Flea Market store; Fred’s Custom Tackle Abbotsford; Chilliwack
• Dart and Tackle, Kent Outdoors in Agassiz and Lions Club Members
• Derby Dance – Music by Valley Fyre
