You’re invited to spend the entire day celebrating Canada in Downtown Chilliwack! Family-friendly, community fun gets started at 8 am and continues through evening fireworks, wrapping up at 10:30 pm.

  • Traditional Kiwanis Pancake breakfast from 8:00 am – 11:00 am at Evergreen Hall
  • The Grandstand field behind the Cultural Centre booked full of family fun from 11 am to 3 pm featuring an entertainment stage with solo artists, dance studios and the popular Rosie Ribbonstar childrens shows
  • The Leisure Landing Centre has a free swim and events all day
  • Prospera Centre will host a free skate from 12 pm – 2 pm
  • The Truth Skateboard Shop will host a “Skate Jam” in the skate park from 1 pm – 3 pm
  • Chilliwack Heritage Society will be playing traditional kids games 11 am – 3 pm on the grandstand field including three legged races, sack races etc.  Bouncey Castles will be on site as well. The Chilliwack Arts Council will be on hand for face painting and lots of kids activities
  • Various displays and food vendors will be on site all day
  • At 5 pm the gates open at Townsend Park for the evening party:including the YMCA Kids Zone  featuring face painting, crafts and all kinds of games to keep the young ones busy!  The Chartwell Senior Zone with special bleacher seating, tents and Chartwell reps on hand to insure a comfortable viewing experience for our seniors with VIP Parking for buses from all senior centers in the valley for easy access.
  • Bring your lawn chairs and blankets on to the football field to enjoy this years CHANCES ENTERTAINMENT STAGE.  Opening remarks from local dignitaries and first nations representatives start at 6 pm, on the dot.
  • Our national anthem will be performed leading into a fantastic selection of entertainers including the Jazz Banditz, Rockabilly Jay and the Cadillac Bones, The Kieran Mercer Band and Appaloosa.
  • The biggest fireworks display in the valley, put together once again this year by Kevan Siggs.  The 25 piece Cascadia Wind Ensemble will be performing during the fireworks show!

 

RCMP, Griffin Security and Streetwise Traffic Control will all be on site to insure a safe, family friendly celebration! The show is set to close at 10:30 and organizers ask that you car pool if possible as parking is limited near the site. The full parking map is available at www.chilliwack.ca/canadaday

Transit will be available into Chilliwack from Sardis on Canada Day with regular drop off and pick up at the concession stand on Wolfe Rd. between 11 am and 11 pm.
