Pub night to remember and share stories about Chilliwack fire fighter

Friends and family of Don Van Beest, a Chilliwack fighter who passed away last month, are invited to raise a glass at the Jolly Miller Pub Wednesday night at 7 PM.

Lisa Axelsson from the Chilliwack fire department says it’s meant to be a casual night of telling stories and having

“So this is not a memorial, it’s for the living to come and remember Don in a really positive light because of what he gave back to the community in his job and in his personality.”

Axelsson says Don touched a lot of people in the community and was instrumental in getting the fire department’s education bursery fund going.
