United Way Fraser Valley set to launch 2015 campaign

The United Way of the Fraser Valley is about to launch their annual workplace campaign…this is where they raise most of their money for the year. Lori Masse tells us businesses across the valley are HUGE contributors.

“Over 75% of the money we raise comes from employees in their workplace, giving us a little bit per paycheque.  Another chunk, about 18% comes from the employers themselves matching those gifts.”

Last year they raised almost $870,000. United Way Fraser Valley funds numerous non profits and community programs between Aldergrove and Boston Bar. They have 28 community partners.  The annual campaign kickoff is tomorrow (THU) morning between 7-8:30 at the Canadian Tire on South Fraser Way in Abbotsford. There will be a free pancake breakfast, and they’ll be announcing their 2015 campaign goal.

The kickoff and pancake breakfast in Chilliwack is next Wednesday morning at the Cyrus Centre on Wellington, also from 7-8:30am.
