CHRISTMAS CENTRAL is where families can come and register for gift hampers.

LOCATION: The Salvation Army Care and Share Centre – 45746 Yale Road, Chilliwack

DATES OPEN: Monday, November 18 – Friday, December 13, 2024

HOURS: Monday – Friday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Saturdays 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

ELIGIBILITY: Chilliwack residents who are receiving Income Assistance, Disability Pension, EI Benefits, or struggling on low income.

WHAT TO BRING: Picture ID (BC Driver’s License or BC ID Card), 1 piece of ID for each child and every member in the household (Care Cards), and proof of residence in Chilliwack.

If you are not able to register in person, you can send your information, ID, and a signed letter of consent to someone to register on your behalf.

Donate:

Drop off your unwrapped toy/gift, gift cards or cash donations to our main office at #100 – 46187 Yale Rd, or call 604.792.4267

Office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00-4:30

Sponsor a Toy Hamper:

The CCS Christmas Sharing Toy Hamper Sponsorship program matches you with a child/children in our community. You will receive the child’s age, gender, and a small wish list that has been provided to us and you can use to help guide you to purchase Christmas gifts. Hamper values are approximately $125. Sponsorships can be done by individuals, families, organizations and businesses. Deadline to apply as a sponsor is Dec 1 and sponsored hampers must be dropped off before Dec 9.

Food Donation:

The Salvation Army will accept any monetary donations. Please call the office at 604-792-0001 and ask for Chris Kizmann. Donation Receipts will be processed at the time of donation and mailed out to you following the donation.

 

HOW TO HELP

BE AN ANGEL TREE HOST:

Angel Trees are set up at different businesses and organizations in Chilliwack. Members of the community are able to visit one of these locations, obtain a tag, and shop for a gift according to the specifications on the tag, then return the unwrapped gift to any Angel Tree location before December 9th, 2024. If you are interested in being an Angel Tree host, please contact christmas@comserv.bc.ca or call 604.792.4267

TOY DRIVES:

Community groups, businesses and individuals host Toy Drives around Chilliwack to collect unwrapped new gifts for children ages 0-18 years old. Visit one of the local toy drives to drop off your donations. Thank you for the support!

Want to host a Toy drive? Contact us and we can send you CCS posters to print and use on collection boxes, provide ideas to support the Toy Drive, and share the event on our social media pages.

Wish List

The CCS Christmas Sharing Program accepts unwrapped new toys, gift cards (individual card values of $25 or less) and cash donations. There is a larger need for gifts for tweens and teens and we try to limit the number of stuffed animals as our warehouse is already overflowing with their cuteness.

Ages 0 to 4

  • Outdoor toys: e.g. tricycle, kick scooter, balance bike, balls
  • Building blocks: e.g. Megablocks, wooden blocks, stacking blocks
  • Musical toys: e.g. xylophone, maracas, drums
  • Educational toys: e.g. Leapfrog, co-operative board games, Trace-n-Erase chalkboards, Magna-Tiles, Toy Toolbox
  • Arts and crafts: Play-doh, crayons, paints & easels, activity books
  • Imagination toys: toy cars and train sets, magnetic fishing sets, play food sets, dolls
  • Clothing: pajamas, winter jackets, hats, gloves, socks, blankets

 

Ages 5 to 11

  • Outdoor toys: e.g. kick scooter, bicycle, soccer ball, basketball, sled
  • Games & puzzles: e.g. Pokemon Cards, Monopoly, Cranium Family Edition, Sorry, Twister, Chutes and Ladders
  • Arts and craft sets: e.g. pencil crayons, pastels, DIY craft kits, jewelry making sets, activity books
  • STEM toys: e.g. science kits, kids’ coding games
  • Imagination toys: e.g. pretend and dress up, interactive pet toys, monster trucks, RC cars
  • Building blocks and sets: e.g. Lego,
  • Action figures and dolls: e.g. Barbie, play sets, video game characters, Marvel action figures, LOL dolls,
  • Age-appropriate electronics
  • Clothing: Pajamas, winter jackets, hats, gloves, socks, slippers, bedding, blankets

 

Ages 12 to 18

  • Sports and activities: e.g. Nerf toys, bicycle, hockey gear, skateboard, activity tracker
  • Games, Arts & Crafts: professional art supplies, advanced Lego sets
  • Electronics: e.g. video games, portable chargers, Fujifilm Instax or Polaroid Camera and film; handheld gaming devices, LED lights
  • Musical items: e.g. guitars, keyboards, drums, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, wireless earbuds
  • Lifestyle: e.g. watch/smartwatches, fitness/water bottles, backpacks, books, travel mugs, make-up, jewelry, hair styling tools, razors and shaving cream, wallets, purses, room decor
  • Tickets and gift cards: tickets for concerts, movies & sports events, gift cards for clothing, electronics, etc. so that tweens and teens can pick out something for themselves that they will love and need
