Hosting a Halloween party? You’ll want to give these a try…simple, easy and FUN!
Mummy-wrapped jalapeño poppers recipe:
Ingredients:
- 12 jalapeño peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 12 slices of bacon, cut in half
- 24 candy eyeballs
- 1 tube of refrigerated crescent dough
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
- Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a half slice of bacon, leaving a small gap near the top for the mummy’s “eyes.”
- Place the wrapped jalapeños on the lined baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
- While the jalapeños are baking, prepare the mummy wrappings. Unroll the crescent dough and press the seams together to form a solid sheet.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into thin strips.
- Once the jalapeños are done, let them cool slightly. Place two candy eyeballs on the gap you left earlier for the “eyes.”
- Take the thin strips of crescent dough and wrap them around the bacon-wrapped jalapeños to resemble mummy bandages, leaving the “eyes” exposed.
- Brush the mummy-wrapped jalapeños with the beaten egg to give them a shiny finish.
- Place them back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy your spooky and delicious mummy-wrapped jalapeño poppers!
