Millennials suk at speling

If you are part of the so-called “Millennial” generation, maybe a little too much.

Data collected by Blend — a group texting app — shows what happened when autocorrect was accidentally turned off for all its users for 72-hours.

An appalling 34 per cent of words were misspelled!

The average age range of Blend users is 16 to 24 and the most commonly misspelled words were “weird” (spelled wierd), “definitely” (spelled defiantly) and “Budweiser” (spelled Budwieser).

“Vacuum,” “possession,” “restaurant” and “embarrassing” were also high on the list.

But to give Millennials some credit, there were some dodgily spelled words often caught and self-corrected.

The most common — and see if you can pick out a theme here — were “sec” and “sex,” “organic” and “orgasmic,” and “duck” and word that rhymes with “duck.”

So before cracking a Bud, sitting down for a sec and enjoying that organic duck, maybe grab an old copy of Hooked on Phonics.

It could save you a little embarasment.
