Chilliwack standoff comes to a peaceful end

An overnight standoff in Chilliwack is over, and the good news is, no one was hurt. RCMP say around midnight a man barricaded himself in an apartment with a family member on Mary St near the hospital?, and there were reports that he had a gun. Inspector Davy Lee tells us the Emergency Response Team was deployed and police blocked off the area to traffic. After several hours of negotiation, the man came out and was arrested without incident. Police have re opened the area, but will remain on scene to investigate.
