Crews quickly knock down residential fire

On February 20th at approximately 11:15pm, the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire in the 10100 block of Hymar Drive. Approximately 31
Firefighters from Halls 1, 2, 4 and 6 responded to the scene and discovered a single-family home with flames and smoke venting from the front of the home.

Fire crews quickly deployed hose streams and aggressively knocked down the fire. After the fire was knocked down, crews proceeded with overhaul operations to ensure the fire had not
extended beyond the area of origin.

There were no firefighter injuries reported at this fire. One occupant received a minor burn and was treated at the scene by BC Emergency Health Services Paramedics.

The Chilliwack Emergency Support Services (ESS) team was dispatched to the scene and provided emergency supports to displaced occupants.

This fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department officials.
