Quick actions from fire crews limits damage from garage fire

On June 20th at approximately 6:45am, the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire in the 7000 block of Rochester Avenue.

Approximately 18 Firefighters from Halls 1 and 4 responded to the scene and discovered smoke venting from the attached garage of a single-family home. Fire crews quickly made entry into the home and
located a fire in the garage area. Through the swift action of fire crews, the fire was extinguished and the fire was not able to spread to the remainder of the home.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported and all occupants were able to safely exit the home.

This fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department officials.
