This cute duo is Alice and Beatrice.

They are New Zealand Rabbits, a breed well known for their friendly nature and for getting along with other pets in the home.

These girls were found running loose in downtown Abbotsford and picked up by a good Samaritan, unfortunately they were never claimed.  Alice and Beatrice are a bonded pair of rabbits and are currently in one of the SPCA’s valued foster homes while they wait for their spay appointments on September 9. They will be ready to go to their new home right afterwards.  Both these girls have been vaccinated for RHD (Rabbit haemorrhagic disease) and will be microchipped and tattooed before adoption.

Alice and Beatrice love being out of a cage and spend a lot of their time during the day running around and playing, and of course, getting into anything they can. They are both very friendly and love being around people. Both rabbits are quite big and weight close to eight pounds so a larger cage will be needed for those times when they must be caged.

As with all rabbits, their diet must contain at least 70% hay. Not only is this good for them, but it also helps to prevent them from getting overgrown teeth.  They also require some high quality pellets daily as well as a small amount of fresh vegetables.
