RCMP urgently seek the public’s assistance to locate a missing man

Chilliwack:  The RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance to locate Ioan Pop, 79, of Chilliwack.  Mr. Pop was last seen just after 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22nd at his residence on Teskey Road, near Tournier Place, in the Promontory area of Chilliwack.  Pop suffers from Dementia.

Ioan Pop is described as:

  • Caucasian male.
  • Height: 167 cm (5’6”).
  • Weight: 90 kgs. (200 lbs).
  • Hair: Grey, bald on top.

Pop was last seen wearing a brown pullover sweatshirt, blue Adidas track pants with white stripes, and house slippers. Mr. Pop typically wears a medical bracelet on his right wrist that has a phone number for his family on it.  Mr. Pop does not speak English, and has difficulty with his native Romanian due to medical issues.

RCMP officers supported by Chilliwack Search and Rescue continue to search for Mr. Pop they ask the public to remain watchful for him.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ioan Pop is urged to call 911.
