If you’ve been thinking of selling your home, now is a good time to list. According to the BC Real Estate Association, consumer demand in BC last month was the second highest on record for November. Chief Economist Cameron Muir says home sales in the valley were up 60% compared to last November, and because it’s a sellers market, buyers are having to compete more.

“And that often of course leads to rising home prices, and we’ve seen home prices edge up across the lower mainland this year. In fact, a little bit more than edging up….Chilliwack last month was up over 18% compared to a year ago. That may be a little bit to do with some higher priced homes selling, but nevertheless, there is some upward pressure on home prices in the Chilliwack marketplace.”

He says the Fraser Valley led the way in terms of consumer demand last month in BC. He says people are feeling good about the provincial economy right now, and spending on everything from retail to real estate is on the rise.
