Proponent of proposed slaughterhouse says there won't be any bad smells

A zoning amendment for a beef slaughter house in Chilliwack will go to public hearing August 18th.

Meadow Valley Meats are proposing to build a 22, 000 square foot beef cattle processing facility on a group of Brannick place properties.

Anticipating concerns from nearby neighbors, the company has already commissioned reports from industry experts on potential odor issues.

According to a report, the facility will be fully enclosed and will have proper equipment to ensure nobody is bothered by foul smells.
