Stage 3 Water Ban for Abbotsford & Mission kicks in Friday

As of this Friday, you will no longer be allowed to water your lawn on any day in Abbotsford or Mission.
The City and the District are implementing a Stage 3 Water Ban, effective July 3rd.
Mission Mayor Randy Hawes says Dickson Lake is at a historically low level and with the hot weather, the average daily demand for water has increased by 25% this June compared to a year ago.

Abbotsford Mayor Henry Braun says the unseasonably warm temperatures and lack of rainfall led to lower snowpacks this year, and they’re running out of water faster than expected.  They say you can still hand water flowers and vegetable gardens, but they will stringently enforce the ban on lawn watering.
